CONSULTING
Steep Management aims to enable ski resort mountain operations to expand leadership development by increasing front-line staff productivity and efficiency with the proper tools. The proper tools enable information sharing and improved behavioral changes, which breed trust and inclusion.
Steep founder, Bob Ackland, realized after 20+ years of managing ski areas that there was a real need to address how work gets done on the hill, not only from a technology perspective but from an organizational and management perspective. With tight budgets the right tools and sharing of information are the most efficient ways to begin the process of making work and conditions better.
Bob has a long history in the ski industry management, serving as general manager at Mad River Glen and president of Sugarbush Resort. He has a keen understanding of the relationship between work process and staff behavior and has written and presented on organizational health throughout his career.
Much of Bob’s thinking has been influenced by the writings of Patrick Lencioni, Geary A. Rummler, and Alan P. Brache, and his consultancy services are supported by the Table Group, Patrick Lencioni’s consulting company. The tools Bob uses help build a simple path to organizational health for ski resorts/areas.
