One thing I have learned over time and my own omission are that even though you may have a well-defined vision, plan, goals, roles, and processes, these are not communicated sufficiently and frequently enough to the front line staff where the rubber meets the road. The consistency of the messages and their frequency are critical to gaining the attributes of a healthy organizational culture.
Every Lift Ops, Lift Maintenance, Ski Patrol, Snowmaking and mountain ops department need to have their vision, plan, goals, roles, and processes for each department clearly articulated and repeated to the point that all members of each department can recite them. Only then do you have every one of the same sheet of music playing the right tune.
