Summer seems to be here, albeit we still have skiing here in North America with plenty of snowpack in the higher Western mountains. It was a GOOD winter and hopefully, many of you are enjoying some added benefit from such. I know the late snow melt has created some challenges with scheduling work on the hill, but I think that all can be solved, and the benefit of the good snowpack will always be welcomed.
Some changes happening at Steep Management, Steep will no longer be representing Medic52. There will be efforts to fill the void with an incident management product that integrates better with MountainOffice, Steeps main product. The new product will be one that has more of a GIS bent hopefully allowing for snow safety management as well as incident management.
In the vane of new, Steep has learned of new software that will possibly be rolled out across the country. VEIC, which Vermont ski areas know for certain and their work in enabling energy reduction in snowmaking, has developed a modeling software package that has great application for the ski industry, see article in this newsletter about this new product.
Staying with new, MountainOffice will be unveiling an update in mid-summer as well as a new module in the fall. Steep is excited to have these products reach our shores. Currently, the German version is going through some tweaks and testing in Austria. The update will include a customizable dashboard for each user on the system. The new module will be an Inspection and Log app which will allow all logs and inspections, daily, weekly and monthly to be kept by lift or piece of equipment. The module will run just as MountainOffice does on any Android device. These features will allow customizable inspections and logs to be built, easily recorded, and stored electronically providing lift ops managers a great solution to managing their many forms of paper. Management will have easy access to quickly review what is being done and when by whom.
Look forward to sharing these new features with you.
